RICKY WILLIAMS

PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL PLAYER

SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER (SAD)

...Unaware of Ricky's underlying disorder, the media portrayed the troubled young man as aloof and weird, because he would give interviews while still wearing his helmet and would avoid contact with fans. I'm just learning about Ricky Williams and from my research I've found a few articles that have characterized him as "odd". I also learned that him and I are the same age!!!! He's about a month older. I am intrigued. Thank you to the reader who shared this with me.

Maybe...just maybe...I can get Ricky Williams as an interview on my blogtalkradio.com/painfullyshy show. Maybe????? I will try.

I encourage you all to read up about him as well. Very interesting story.

Hi Lady:

Boy, your website was a Godsend. I am a black woman who has lived all my life with social anxiety too. I'm a little older than you at __. I live in ___but I'm in ____, __right now. Your website just had a very good vibe to it. I, like you, have found therapy to work only to an extent. Medications did nothing for me either. I, too, decided to create my own therapy. My approach has been very introspective and spiritual. I am going into it with God. Not religion, but Spirit...

This reader also told me about a professional football player with SAD (social anxiety disorder). I will put that info up in another post.

Until then...
