Rachel Ray Doesn't Trust Quiet People

On 9/13/07, I saw Rachel Ray on TV saying that she doesn't trust quiet people. Which I wrote down as a reminder and came across that reminder today and thought I'd share with my readers.

Alot of people feel the way she does about quiet people. Ever heard the saying "its always the quiet ones?"

This explains why many people seem to automatically feel like people with social anxiety are strange or they are conceited. They group us with psychopaths to a certain extent and don't trust us.

What are we going to do about this stereotype. We are amongst the sweetest people anyone can ever come across but we are just extremely nervous to speak up.

I think its time you all meet me at my painfullyshy.spruz.com acct and join my chatroom. I have not had many visits to that site yet and am trying to create a discussion about this and other problems.

Also, I contacted the author of several books on Anxiety related subjects to join me on my radio show. I am waiting for her to contact me back and I will then make this my FIRST show.

I want to make it interesting and she has SOOOO many good tips and hopefully I can take notes while I'm hosting the show.

Until then...

  1. Good luck with what you are doing!! I think your blog is very interesting and in the time I have spent here I have learned A LOT. This is something that you really don't hear talked about that much, and reading your point of view has really shed some light on the subject for me.

    THANKS FOR SHARING!!

  2. I know exactly what you're talking about. I'm also a quiet and shy person. I struggle everyday becasue y'know, we're living in a world dominated by extroverts; a world where people misunderstood introverts. Yeah, you're right. People always say, "it's always the quiet ones". My teachers tell my classmates that quiet people are dangerous because they're the ones who have frightening eruptions. That's why people are sometimes afraid of me. They think I'm so fragile so they fear me. They can't even joke me. What a big misconception about us quiet and shy people! If they only know how caring and loving we are! And I don't think we have those frightening eruptions when we get angry.

I wish people would just understand us...

  3. Hey, i agree with what you say about quiet folks being grouped with other social maladpats like psychopaths. People here "sociphobe" and immediatly think "sociopath" which is just a short step to "psychopath". We are SO misunderstood, it is unreal. The joke is, no one takes the TIME to get to know us.

I am all for your idea of getting your chatroom forum jumping. I am starting a UK forum for young black folks for UK people to interct and share. I ope you don;t mind, but i posted a link to the forum. The more the better right?!
