soft spoken and effective

I picked up the latest copy of Sports Illustrated last night after work because Beyonce is on the cover. She is the 1st singer to be on the cover of the swimsuit edition! I admire her ambition and the talent that backs it up very much much!!

About every 3 years or so, there is a singer or actress that comes along that I tend to admire whole heartedly and use as an example for my life and right now that person is Beyonce. So is Tyra (who happened to have been the 1st African American model on that same cover!) and I'm also loving Oprah (as always) and my mother (as always)!!

In the past it has been Debbie Gibson, Tracie Spencer, and a few others.

I am also loving Susan Cagle!! She is a NY subway performer...she is a singer in general but I know of her from her performances in the subway. Susan is awesome because she is down to earth and her entire family is like that. I 1st saw her performing with her entire family years ago and I have followed her career ever since and now she performs solo. I have spoken to her a couple of times and one of her sisters as well. She seems quiet and reserved and SHY!! Which makes me admire her more because she is able to still perform and do her thang!!! I know I can still be soft spoken yet effectively live my dreams...not everyone has to be loud and talkative to make it...right?

  1. I know Susan Cagle and her family, too! The family is in Africa now, doing missionary work. They are such nice people.

I used to be totally shy, too. What helped me overcome my shyness was...playing in the subway! When I started to play in the subway so many people wanted to talk with me. It forced me to talk with people I didn't know. And I learned that most people are actually really nice and friendly. Even the ones that looked scary turned out to be nice:)
